Refuse to Conform is an independent UK clothing brand founded by Charlie in 2015.
What began as one person’s refusal to blend in has grown into a worldwide community built around comfort, self-expression and honest conversations. Our clothing features bold messages and relaxed, unisex styles designed to help you feel more like yourself.
Why we make what we make
Our designs are inspired by real experiences of anxiety, overwhelm, neurodivergence and feeling different. They are reminders that difficult days, boundaries, rest and changing direction are all part of being human.
Our signature Ultra-Heavy Hoodies combine substantial fabric, oversized fits and extra-roomy hoods for a warm, wrapped-up feel. Alongside them, you’ll find tees, joggers, lighter layers, accessories and digital tools carrying the same unmistakable RTC message.
Meet Charlie
I’m Charlie, the founder of Refuse to Conform. I create the designs, run the store and stay closely connected to the community behind it.
This brand is personal to me. I know what it feels like to have an anxious mind in a noisy world and to feel as though you do not fit the boxes other people expect. RTC exists to make space for people who feel the same.
More than clothing
Every design is a way to say something without having to find the words. Wear the message that means something to you, start a conversation or simply choose comfort on the days you need it.
